The link_url parameter is insufficiently escaped and the database query lacks proper SQL preparation in usersubmission.php.
Affected systems
Link Library plugin for WordPress up to, and including, 7.9.2
CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Fix & remediation
Upgrade the Link Library plugin to version 7.9.3 or later. If patching immediately is not possible, disable the plugin or block access to the user submission functionality.
$ wp plugin update link-libraryAI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
NVD description
The Link Library plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the 'link_url' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.9.2 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
