Impact
Authenticated attackers can read and write arbitrary host files as the runner user. They need network access to upload a bundle containing a nested sub-agent.
Root cause
The bundle validation in bundles.py checks the root directory setting but fails to sanitize the os_env.cwd path parameter on nested sub-agents.
Affected systems
Omnigent 0.3.0 before 0.14.0
CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Fix & remediation
Upgrade Omnigent to version 0.14.0 or later. No interim workaround is documented; restrict bundle upload permissions to trusted users if patching must wait.
$ pip install --upgrade 'omnigent>=0.14.0'AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
NVD description
Omnigent 0.3.0 before 0.14.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated users to escape the workspace by setting os_env.cwd on nested sub-agents. Attackers can upload a bundle whose sub-agent uses an absolute or parent-traversing working directory, bypassing root-only validation in bundles.py, to read and write host files as the runner user.
