CWE-89

Impact

Authenticated users can execute arbitrary SQL queries to read unauthorized database entities, including user and role tables. Attackers only need valid low-privileged credentials and network access to the API.

Root cause

The EqlBuilder directly interpolates single-quoted text literals from EQL WHERE clauses into raw SQL without sanitization.

Affected systems

WebVella ERP through 1.8.8

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N

Fix & remediation

No fixed version is specified in the advisory; restrict or block access to the 'POST /api/v3/*/eql' endpoint at your reverse proxy or WAF for untrusted users until a patched package is released.

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?

NVD description

WebVella ERP through 1.8.8 contains an sql injection vulnerability that allows any authenticated user to inject SQL through WHERE-clause text literals in the EQL query API. Attackers can send crafted single-quoted literals to POST /api/v3/en_US/eql, escaping the unsanitized EqlBuilder SQL interpolation to read unauthorized entities, including user and role tables.
