CWE-639

Impact

Authenticated members can tamper with or delete other users' shopping carts by guessing sequential cart IDs. Attackers only need a standard user account and network access to the mobile API.

Root cause

The mobile CartController lacks ownership checks when processing cart item updates and deletions, trusting user-supplied cart IDs directly.

Affected systems

waynboot-mall through 2.0.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N

Fix & remediation

No fixed version is currently specified in the advisory; restrict access to mobile cart endpoints (/cart, /cart/changeNum, /cart/{cartId}) or patch CartServiceImpl to validate that the target cartId belongs to the authenticated user's ID before mutating data.

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?

NVD description

waynboot-mall through 2.0.0 contains an insecure direct object reference vulnerability in the mobile CartController that allows authenticated members to modify or delete other members' cart items. Attackers can enumerate sequential cart ids via PUT /cart, POST /cart/changeNum, and DELETE /cart/{cartId} to change quantities, selection state, or remove items.
