Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can invoke sensitive admin endpoints over the network without logging. They can dismiss abuse reports, wipe unused tags, and arbitrarily grant points to users.

Root cause

PermissionMidware allows access by default to any admin route that lacks an explicit permission rule configured.

Affected systems

B3log Symphony through 3.6.4

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N

Fix & remediation

No fixed version is currently specified; block external access to '/admin/*' at your reverse proxy or load balancer until an official patch is released.

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?

NVD description

B3log Symphony through 3.6.4 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to reach admin routes because PermissionMidware.check permits routes lacking permission.rule.url entries. Attackers can request /admin/report/ignore/{reportId}, /admin/tags/remove-unused, or /admin/user/{userId}/init-point to ignore reports, delete unused tags, or grant points without audit logging.
