- CWE-321
Impact
Adjacent unauthenticated attackers can intercept, decrypt, or alter device communications. They only need access to the local network segment hosting the device.
Root cause
The /usr/bin/sysman binary contains a hard-coded cryptographic key.

Fix & remediation
Check advisory MPSA-262560 for targeted firmware updates; until patched, isolate affected Moxa devices on a dedicated, restricted VLAN to block untrusted adjacent network traffic.

NVD description
A hard-coded cryptographic key vulnerability exists in the `/usr/bin/sysman` of some of Moxa's industrial computing products. An unauthenticated attacker with adjacent network access could exploit the exposed private key material to compromise the confidentiality and integrity of communications.
