Impact

Authenticated attackers with low-privileged accounts can read sensitive item master data they should not have access to. They only need standard network access and valid low-level credentials.

Root cause

Certain API endpoints fail to enforce role authorization checks before returning item master data.

Affected systems

Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.118.2 and 16.x versions before 16.30.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Frappe ERPNext to version 15.118.2, 16.30.0, or newer. No interim workaround is documented, so prioritize patching.

shell
$ bench update --apps erpnext
