CWE-89

Impact

Authenticated attackers can exfiltrate sensitive data from the database via crafted requests to vulnerable endpoints. They only need low-privilege network access to an account on the instance.

Root cause

Missing input validation in certain endpoints allows user-supplied data to manipulate SQL queries.

Affected systems

Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.102.0 and 16.x versions before 16.11.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Frappe ERPNext to 15.102.0, 16.11.0, or newer. No interim workarounds are documented, so restrict access to authenticated accounts until patched.

shell
$ bench update --apps erpnext

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
