CWE-89

Impact

Authenticated attackers can run arbitrary SQL queries to extract sensitive database contents over the network. They only need valid user credentials to reach the vulnerable endpoints.

Root cause

Missing input validation in certain endpoints allows user-supplied data to alter SQL queries directly.

Affected systems

Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.106.0 and 16.x versions before 16.16.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Frappe ERPNext to 15.106.0, 16.16.0, or later. No interim workaround is documented, so restrict access to authenticated users or revoke non-essential accounts until patched.

shell
$ bench update --apps erpnext

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
