Impact

Authenticated low-privileged attackers can execute arbitrary SQL queries to extract sensitive database records. They only need standard network access and valid user credentials.

Root cause

Endpoints lack input validation on user-supplied parameters before passing them into SQL queries.

Affected systems

Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.102.0 and 16.x versions before 16.8.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Frappe ERPNext to version 15.102.0, 16.8.0, or later. No interim mitigation is provided, so restrict untrusted user access until patched.

shell
$ bench update --apps erpnext

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?

NVD description

Frappe ERPNext before 15.102.0 and 16.x before 16.8.0 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in some endpoints due to missing input validation, allowing manipulation of database queries. Authenticated attackers with low privileges can send specially crafted requests to the affected endpoints to extract sensitive information from the database.
