Impact

Authenticated low-privilege users can extract sensitive database records via SQL injection over the network. They only need valid credentials for a standard user account.

Root cause

Certain API endpoints fail to validate user input before incorporating it into database queries.

Affected systems

Frappe ERPNext versions before 15.119.1 and 16.x versions before 16.32.0

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Frappe ERPNext to version 15.119.1 or 16.32.0 depending on your release branch. If immediate patching is not possible, restrict untrusted user access to the ERPNext web interface.

shell
$ bench update --apps erpnext

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
