CWE-862

Impact

Authenticated low-privilege users can forge, alter, or wipe audit logs to conceal malicious actions. They only need standard login credentials and network access to the application endpoints.

Root cause

The LogController lacks authorization checks on log manipulation endpoints, allowing any logged-in user to directly invoke add, update, and delete actions.

Affected systems

jshERP through 3.6

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L

Fix & remediation

Upgrade to a version beyond 3.6 when available. If patching must wait, block or restrict access to the /log/add, /log/update, /log/delete, and /log/deleteBatch routes at your reverse proxy or WAF.

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?

NVD description

jshERP through 3.6 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in LogController that allows any authenticated user to forge, modify, or delete audit log entries. Low-privilege users can call /log/add, /log/update, /log/delete, and /log/deleteBatch to fabricate entries, rewrite user and IP fields, or erase records to hide activity.
