CWE-74, CWE-94

Impact

Remote attackers can execute arbitrary code by tricking the application into processing a malicious model path. This requires user interaction or untrusted input passed directly to the configuration loader.

Root cause

Improper input sanitization of the llm_model_name_or_path parameter in _load_text_config allows code injection.

Affected systems

TinyLLaVA_Factory up to commit 1abc6ac5e76a68d0fd087a071b56da968e69ca9b

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L

Fix & remediation

No official patched release exists yet. Validate or strictly whitelist the llm_model_name_or_path parameter before passing it to TinyLlavaConfig to prevent loading arbitrary strings or remote paths.

shell
$ git -C TinyLLaVA_Factory rev-parse HEAD

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
