- CWE-22
Impact
Remote, unauthenticated attackers can write files outside intended directories to cause data tampering or denial of service on the server. They only need network access to the API.
Root cause
The calibration_apply handler fails to sanitize the save_cimatrix parameter, allowing directory traversal sequences in the file path.
Affected systems
Mistral.rs up to and including 0.9.3
CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L
Fix & remediation
Upgrade to Mistral.rs version 0.9.4 or apply commit 8c81056712709b4845ec6d9531e4d35bab4a367c; no interim configuration workaround is documented, so restrict network access to the server if upgrading must wait.
$ cargo install mistralrs-server --version 0.9.4 --lockedAI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
