Impact
Authenticated remote attackers can trigger server-side requests to internal or external services via manipulated sitemap URLs. This allows unauthorized scanning of internal networks and data access from the server's perspective.
Root cause
The fetch function in src/utils/crawler.ts fails to validate or restrict user-supplied input to the sitemap_url argument in the collect_corpus component.
Affected systems
houtini-ai voice-analyser-mcp up to 2.1.1
CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L
Fix & remediation
No patch is currently available as the vendor did not respond; restrict the service's outbound network access via egress firewall rules or isolate the collect_corpus component from internal network resources.
$ npm list voice-analyser-mcpAI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
