CWE-426

Impact

A local attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the user running Adobe Dimension. Exploitation requires convincing a user to launch the application while malicious libraries are placed in its search path.

Root cause

The application searches for and loads external resources or binaries from untrusted directories instead of fully qualified or secure paths (CWE-426).

Affected systems

Versions not listed — check the vendor advisory.

CVSS v3.1 · CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H

Fix & remediation

Upgrade Adobe Dimension to the patched release referenced in Adobe advisory apsb26-171 once available. Until patched, restrict write permissions to the application directory and working directories to prevent local users from dropping malicious DLLs or binaries.

AI-suggested. Run it in staging first and check it against the vendor advisory. Why?
